After Lot had gone, the Lord said to Abram,“Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west.  I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession.
Gen 13:14 (The New Translation,Bible)

It all starts with what you see! How far can you see?

When you get to a place, your possession of that place is determined by how far you can see.

What you see is what you get.

In Abram’s life journey, God spoke to him that he was taking him to a land in which he will inherit for himself and for his generations.

He got to a place and after a feud with his nephew Lot, They had to separate themselves and their livestock.

Here’s Lot  in a posh green land  for his cattle to graze on.

This is Abram occupying a dry place filled with wicked men, then God told him to open his eyes and look around.

Was it that Abram was blind? or were his eyes shut?

It takes spiritual understanding to get the panacea of what God was actually telling Abram. (2nd Cor. 5:17)

No matter how big your eyes are, if your spiritual understanding is shallow or closed, you are blind.

When God spoke to Abram to leave his kindred, he physical eyes were intact.

In fact, that was what got him to the south. Yet God told him to open his eyes.

Many of us want to get to the place of our inheritance, yet our spiritual eyes are blind.

Listen, your spirit has eyes.

But it cannot be activated except your spirit is regenerated.

When you get born again your spiritual senses receives signals and can see what the physical eyes can’t see.

It was obvious Abram was yet to open his eyes. Yet, God said “open your eyes, look around”

You gain possession of a place through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Man is a Spirit, he lives in a body and has a mind.

The Spiritual senses of man is dead unless he gets born again.

To get born again is to confess our shortcomings and weaknesses and allow Jesus to be the Lord of our lives.

Then, the Holy Spirit comes upon us and our eyes are opened.

The reason why we can’t see further beyond our eyes is because our eyes have not yet been opened by the Holy Spirit.

Are you struggling to take hold of your possession?

Is your expectation of that seeming break through delayed? All hope is not loss.

When your spiritual eyes are opened, you gain ascendency in the Spiritual territories of a place.

You will find out that you are able to navigate your course in the maze of life.

Let the Holy Spirit take over your eyes, you wont be stranded.

Your Total possession of a place is determined by how far you can see.

When God told Abram to look around at everything he saw, he was just telling him to look only but looking beyond what he saw.

He wasn’t  to look at those wicked men around, the trees, animals, land, river, and all the physical geographical markers his physical eyes could see.

He was to look beyond what he can see—as far as his eyes(spiritual) can see.

If I may ask, What do you see?

Are you seeing a dry land or a land flowing with milk and honey.

Are you seeing scarcity or an overflow of abundance?

Are you seeing set backs or you are seeing stepping stones?

How far and well you see can bring to you your possession.

You have to look beyond your present situation to the glorious future God has planned for you.

Apostle Paul understood the power of our spiritual eyes, he actually prayed that by having the eyes of our heart flooded with light, we can know and understand the hope to which He has called us and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints —His set-apart ones. (Eph. 1:18; paraphrase mine)

when you want to possess your inheritance, you let your spiritual eyes look for possibilities, insight, solutions, light, breakthrough.

Where we occupy is as a result of how far we can see.

Take faith-filled steps.

After God told him to open his eyes and look very far, the instruction God gave moses was to walk the length and breadth of the land.

This meant that he should take action.

Not just to sit down there and watch things happen but to take divinely led steps.

That was how he could be able to gain possession of his inheritance.

Are you taking faith-led steps today.

Don’t keep brooding, take action! Move around, it’s already yours.

If you have seen it, it’s yours. Start taking over.

It’s  time for you to open your eyes, looks around and possess that which God has preserved for you.
